Arizona Vortex Workshop

This workshop is designed for rope rescue and rope access practitioners and instructors who wish to incorporate the use of artificial frames such as the Rock Exotica Arizona Vortex into their existing rope rescue/access systems.

Building on an initial theory input to understand the force, anchoring and guying considerations when using artificial frames, the workshop is highly practical and covers the different rigging options for artificial frames including:

  • Standard Tripod
  • Easel-Leg Tripod
  • A-Frame
  • Sideways A-Frame
  • Lazy Leg A-Frames
  • Gin Poles

The workshop explains the difference between and includes the rigging and operation of both Directional Frames and Anchor Frames. Specialist applications of the Arizona Vortex, including the Doortex, Elevated A-Frame for shaft entry and rescue, and the rigging of anchor hubs, are also covered.
