The Safe Working In Water (SWIW) course is for individuals who make planned entries into water as part of their job role.
The course is appropriate training for employees who are required to enter water as part of their job. As well as looking at the hazards and risks associated with working near and in water, the course introduces at Personal Protective Equipment for intentional water entry and fundamental skills for operating in water such as shallow water and defensive swimming techniques.
Core course content includes:
- Pre-planning for emergencies and rescue
- Bank based co-worker rescue techniques
- Swimming and self-rescue in both lifejackets and buoyancy aids
- People and equipment entrapments
