The Safe Working Near Water (SWNW) course is tailored for individuals who may be required to work near water, but who are not required to enter the water as part of their job role.
This course caters to a diverse range of professionals (environmental agency personnel, construction workers etc) who are required to work near, but not in water. The course looks at the hazards of working near water and un-intended water entry and includes the use of lifejackets as PPE.
Core course content includes:
- Lifejacket pre-use checks, in-water inflation drill and post use maintenance
- Self rescue swimming techniques
- Bank based co-worker rescue techniques
- Medical and decontamination considerations
