Confined Space Rescue Operator Instructor

The Confined Space Rescue Operator Instructor (CSROI) allows instructors to deliver all Rescue 3 certified  Confined Space training courses up to and including Confined Space Rescue Operator within their own organisation.

Becoming a Confined Space Rescue Operator  Agency Instructor allows you to deliver a suite of Confined Space training for low, medium and high-risk environments.

This course combined a 5 day instructor training element and a separate 3 day instructor assessment.  Normally there is a 4-6 week gap between the training and assessment courses to provide candidates time to practice and prepare for the assessment.  Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will be awarded an ‘Agency Instructor’ status which allows them to deliver Rescue 3 training within their own organisation.  Those who wish to provide commercial training outside their own organisation will also need to complete the Independent Instructor Pathway and separate assessment.

The training phase of the course looks at:-

  • Review of Rescue 3 Confined Space training scheme, course structures and course learning outcomes
  • Introduction to teaching and learning including observation of example sessions
  • Registering as a Rescue 3 Europe training provider and Rescue 3 course delivery processes
  • Planning and delivery of a number of practice theory and practical teaching sessions

Following the above candidates will be assessed on:-

  • Confined Space knowledge (written test paper)
  • Practical assessment of  candidates  Confined Space Rescue Operator skills
  • Delivery of a practical teaching session from the CSRO syllabus
  • Delivery of a theory teaching session from the CSRO syllabus
